Hi! Great to see you. My name is Xiangjie (Shawn-jay to English speakers).

I just started PhD study at HKUST SparkLab this fall, advised by Professor Zili Meng. Before formally starting my PhD, I joined SparkLab since Nov. 2023 as a research intern. I received my Master's degree in 2025 in CSU advised by Professor Hao Zhang and Bachelor's degree in CUC in 2022.

My research focuses on Real-Time Communications (RTC), with the goal of improving the latency and quality of real-time video transmission from transport layer (Rate Control and FEC/RTX) and application layer (Video Codec).
