Hi! Great to see you. My name is Xiangjie (Shawn-jay to English speakers).

I'm a first year PhD student in HKUST, advised by Professor Zili Meng. Before formally starting my PhD, I joined SparkLab since Nov. 2023 as a research intern. I received my Master's degree in 2025 in CSU advised by Professor Hao Zhang and Bachelor's degree in CUC in 2022.

My research focuses on Low-latency Video Systems including: 1. Real-time Communications (RTC): Improvements on rate control, loss recovery, and video codecs.
